Kloe is 4 Months Old!!

Well my little tiny baby girl is 4 months old already, and today was her checkup...I cannot believe how big she is getting!! As you can see from the picture (!) she now weighs 14 pounds, 5.5 ounces, and she is 24.5 inches long! That's a long way from 6 pounds, 11 ounces and 19 inches back on August 12! She had to get 2 shots for which she was very brave and only cried briefly, and now she doesn't have to go back until her 6 month checkup in February.

Kloe's loving big sis was very concerned about the shot situation, and even at one point said that she wished it was her that had to get them instead of Kloe. I decided to see how serious she was, so I told her that I would go ahead and tell Dr. MacDonald to give the shots to Kalee instead. Her face immediately revealed her panic, and she quickly corrected herself saying that she wished it were ME getting the shots instead of either her or sissy!!! And that's the kid who calls herself my BFF, people!!!!
The doctor said that she is very pleased with how she is growing, and that she seems to be a very social baby...she was talking to everyone in the office! Hmmm....wonder where she gets that!!

The Christmas Parade

Today was the Kernersville Christmas Parade, and in spite of the 30 degree temps with some crazy wind, we had a blast!! The girls all looked so cute all bundled up but still sporting their "Extravadance" sweatshirts...Kalee had on 3 shirts and a coat under hers!! But of course "Sweaty Betty" never once complained that she was cold! It was so cool to see so many people out to celebrate Christmas (and score some candy!!) even though it was so cold. It's just one more perk to living in K-ville!!!

By the way, we decided that it was too cold for Kloe to sit out at the parade so Danny kept her at home all snug and warm while Sissy made her grand parade debut!!

For some reason it will not upload the pictures so I will try again tomorrow to add them!

Off to the Mountains for a Christmas Tree...

We have had a very fun, very busy weekend! On Saturday we got up early and headed to Sparta, NC to find the perfect Christmas tree, after the girls found some presents in their shoes for St. Nicholas Day! Kalee got a game and some Christmas tattoos, and Kloe got a cute little "Baby's First Christmas" teddy bear.

So we hit the road and found the farm we were looking for, and the girls got their pictures with Santa on his sleigh, being pulled by some miniature horses! It was really cool, and we got some great pics!! Both of them did really well searching for the tree in spite of the fact that it was COLD!!!!! We were able to find a beautiful tree that I am just thrilled with...it is by far the best looking tree we have ever had!!! Kalee was so excited to decorate it, and she did a great job, especially right in the front on the lowest branches HAHA!! I will post pics of the finished product later as we still haven't put on the angel...Kloe was asleep when we reached that point and we want them both to participate!

Wow It's Been a While!!

I have been a major blog slacker lately!! We have been really busy, though, with not one but TWO trips home in November (lucky me!!!!!) and 3 different sets of company! It has been a fun month! When we were home for Thanksgiving Kloe got to join in on a longstanding tradition of "Black Saturday" shopping with me, Grandma, Jean, and Pauline, and she fit right into the routine! She was the happiest little shopper, just hanging out in her stroller and snoozing...she can definitely keep up with Mommy and KK!! It reminded me so much of Kalee's first trip with us when she was 5 months old, and she even wore Kalee's same "Born to Shop" bib! And Kalee, as usual, was an amazing shopper...those little legs must've walked 50 miles, and she didn't even complain. (Pauline, you were really good too :)

The girls were also patient little travelers on both trips. The first time was just us girls, then Daddy was able to join us for the Thanksgiving trip. (Thank God for that because it took us TEN hours to drive home on Sunday...I would have lost my mind!!!)

This week we have been keeping busy decorating for Christmas, inside and out. I am pleased to report that Danny's alter ego Clark Griswold has returned this year, and he has OUTDONE himself!! The yard looks fantastic, although I may have to sell a kidney to pay the electric bill this month! Kalee has done a wonderful job on the inside, and she enjoys rearranging all of it on a daily basis! We are heading to a Christmas tree farm to get our tree on Saturday so I will let you know how that works out.

This coming weekend on Sunday is the Kernersville Christmas parade, and Kalee gets to be in it with her dance studio. She got her special sweatshirt at class tonight and she is really looking forward to it. It's going to be pretty chilly but it should be fun...I get to ride with her on the trailer, so I'm pretty excited, too!

Happy Halloween!

Well I think that the girls had a great time trick or treating! Kloe was happy because she was toasty warm in her pumpkin suit and all bundled up in the stroller...she slept throught he whole thing!! Kalee was excited because we decided to go over to her best friends' in the whole world to trick or treat with them...I thought that it might be kind of lame in our 'hood since there aren't tons of kids and there are still so many empty lots! Kalee did relatively well with the walking part. She started out really strong, then she needed to take a break and ride in the wagon for a while, but boy oh boy did she get her second wind!!! She ended up with quite a haul that we have ALL been enjoying...luckily she doesn't mind sharing!!!

A Sneak Peek....

I just tried Kloe's costume on her for the first time and she LOVES it!!!! It is really soft and snuggly, so she cuddled right up in it and was as happy as can be!!

Kalee thought it was pretty funny to act like she was "picking" her sister!!

More Presents!!

Kalee and Kloe got some packages yesterday, from Sherry, Kevin, Lindsey, and Bailey! They got some super cool Halloween shirts, books, awesome Halloween gel window clings, and Kloe got a Taggies blanket which she seems to love already!! Here are some pics.....

A Fun Afternoon at the Mall

Yesterday I had some exchanges to make at the mall so we talked Daddy into joining us and we had a leisurely afternoon of shopping!

Kalee had me laughing before we left and made me realize what a freak I am about capturing all of the girls' firsts. I was dressing Kloe and put her in a little pair of shoes, more like slippers really. Kalee came in to see if we were ready yet and got so excited and said. "Oh, Mommy, this is Sissy's first time wearing shoes! Where's the camera?" It's so great to have her as a helper...she won't ever let me slip up!!!! So here is a shot of Kloe in her new kicks....

Kalee had some Build a Bear Bucks to spend so she couldn't wait to get in there and purchase Amy a new outfit, but on the way there she had some fun at the toy store, rockin' out the show....

and she also had a fun time in the Halloween store.....

Then we went for a super fun ride on the merry go round where we about made ourselves sick on "the spinny thing" and then we headed for home because Kalee said she was "pooped!"

FYI.....

Don't take your 4-going-on-24 year old daughter to the OB/GYN with ya if you can avoid it...Kalee has spent the afternoon discussing my UTERUS, and speculating that I am pregnant (WHICH I AM NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) because I have to have an ultrasound! SO, if you hear a rumor that I am prego, SO NOT TRUE!!!!!!!!!

Our Weekend in the Mountains

This past weekend we went out to Cherokee, NC with Mom Mom and Pop Pop for a little mini-vavcation. Pop Pop had his truck in a show out there so it was a perfect opportunity to get away, and for him to finally get to spend some time with his newest granddaughter!

We had a really great time and the leaves and the mountain scenery were absolutely gorgeous! Kalee had tons of fun even though she was sick for the first 2 days and not feeling 100%, but she still seemed to enjoy herself. Kloe seemed to have fun, too, sleeping the days away...the cool mountain air really had her worn out! She even hung out at the campfire with us, all bundled up!

Another great part of the weekend was that Kloe got to meet some of my most favorite relatives, Danny's Aunt Dottie and Uncle Jim who live in Tennessee. They also came out for the weekend and it was so much fun to have them there, too! (Or actually, is that Uncle Dottie and Aunt Jim??? By the end of the weekend I was pretty confused, and I didn't even crack open any wine!) I am, however, looking forward to cracking some of that wine open VERY soon, so Uncle Jim should expect a phone call......

A Little Comparison....

These are pics of both girls (Kalee top, Kloe bottom!) with their first Halloween cards! The picture of Kalee is scanned so it is not the greatest but you can still tell how much Kloe looks like her!
